Delivery

Customer Orders

  • Will be sent using our Courier Service. Our Courier will require a signature when the goods are delivered to you. If you are going to be unavailable for our courier then please give us a call and we can make alternative arrangements.
  • Certain small package orders may be possible to send by post meaning no signature will be required.
  • If you wish you can leave special delivery instructions when you go through the on line ordering process. If you do not leave any instructions and you are out when the courier arrives they will leave a card with instructions on how to arrange redelivery or how to collect in person.
  • All our deliveries are covered by insurance but only until the consignee has signed for them on delivery. Please check the package for any damage, tampering or shortages before signing the delivery note. We cannot accept responsibility for damage or loss in transit if you have signed for the goods.

Delivery Time

  • We carry stock of the products shown on our website and these are sent either the same or following day. However as we do offer such a large range of products with many products specially designed or manufactured specifically to order we cannot always guarantee we will have stock of every product so we would ask you to check when placing your order if time is of the essence for your delivery or you are unsure of the product availability.
  • We despatch orders on weekdays only, excluding UK bank holidays. If you have placed your order online, you will receive an automated email when you place your order. We can offer Saturday and Guaranteed AM deliveries to most UK destinations for an additional delivery charge.

Delivery Problems

  • If we have despatched your order and our couriers have attempted delivery they will leave a card explaining how and where you can arrange to collect your parcel. Please arrange to do this as soon as possible as otherwise your parcel will be returned to Ironmongersdirect.co.uk.
  • If the goods you have ordered are damaged, faulty or incorrect, let us know within 10 days of receiving your order and we will either arrange to have the products sent out again free of charge or arrange a credit to your account.
  • If you do not receive everything you ordered, this may be because the item was out of stock. If this is the case, it will be forwarded to you as soon as we receive it. If we have made a rare mistake and forgotten to include something, please call us as soon as you receive your order and we will get it sent to you without delay, free of charge.
  • Unfortunately we are unable to deliver to Post Office Boxes as our carriers require signatures before releasing the package. If the order is being despatched to a prison, there may be delivery restrictions associated with the items or carriers. These restrictions are determined by each institution and may vary.

Delivery Charges

  • Delivery is £5.95 on all orders under £75
  • Delivery is FREE on orders over £75 exc VAT (except Highlands & Islands of Scotland, Isle of Man and Northern Ireland where standard rates apply)
  • We aim to dispatch all orders placed before 3 pm same day, however should the items not be in stock they will be dispatched as soon as they have arrived in are warehouse.
  • Delivery will be between three to five days. Goods are dispatched weekdays only.

International Despatches

  • If you require our product to be sent to any country or region other than the UK then please call us or e mail us and request a delivery charge specific to your order and address – this will keep your cost down to a minimum as we will obtain a specific price for your order from our International courier.
